Lynn M. Armstrong
Director of Food and Beverage
Lynn M. Armstrong oversees all catering events by working directly with the Food & Beverage department and solicits, books and manages events for the center. Armstrong reviews banquet event orders and answers all inquiries from staff and clients. She creates logistical documents for multiday groups to ensure all food and beverage needs are met, and she also works with the Food & Beverage director and executive chef to develop new menus.
Armstrong, who has worked at the center for seven years and was the Knoxville Convention Center’s leader of the year in 2011, has extensive experience in the hospitality industry. She served as catering sales manager and wedding coordinator and then director of catering for the Hampton Inn Event Center and was honored as Hampton’s manager of the year in 2005. She was the convention services manager for the Sheraton Burlington Hotel & Conference Center and event and marketing coordinator for Cendant Corporation.
She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing with minors in Spanish and accounting from York College of Pennsylvania in 1996.
Armstrong, who is originally from Wharton, N.J., volunteers and helps to coordinate special events at her daughter’s school, Nature’s Way Montessori School in Fountain City.
