How long have you lived in Knoxville?

I have lived in Knoxville all my life. I grew up in the Walker Springs area in Crestwood Hills and went to Bearden High School.

What is your favorite activity to do in Knoxville?

My favorite activity is to go to the mountains and drive through the national park and sightsee. I enjoy camping in Townsend and Pigeon Forge and driving through Cades Cove at dusk.

What is your favorite location in Knoxville?

The Tennessee River, especially after growing up on a houseboat on the weekends and coming to Tennessee football games and docking at Calhoun’s for the weekend – it wasn’t called Calhoun’s when I was younger – and then going to the game.

What do you think sets Knoxville apart as a great city to visit?

Knoxville is a beautiful city all year round – from spring with the Dogwood Arts Festival to fall with UT football and the colors of the leaves to winter seeing the snow on the mountains. We are one of the few cities that has a river that you can travel and dock to watch fireworks and go to Vol football games.

What is your favorite part about working at the Knoxville Convention Center?

I enjoy working with the different events and seeing new things. I have worked with all types of events from presidential visits to motorcycle shows. One of my favorites was the Antiques Roadshow. Working with so many people and making friends make it enjoyable to work here, and the center staff is fun to work with as well.
